Doug Crawford, our CEO, is here again with an update regarding our furlough extension position…
In November, the chancellor Rishi Sunak announced that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS), otherwise known as the furlough scheme, will be extended until the end of March 2021. As you may have read through the various government updates provided in recent weeks in relation to the CJRS, the scheme in its current format is due to end, with changes to how the scheme will work moving forward expected to be announced during January 2021. What are we doing at Parasol?
We remain as committed as ever to supporting you through this difficult time and I’m proud of the positive steps we’ve already taken this year to offer support to our employees, making a significant contribution outside of government support. When I wrote my last blog in June, we announced that we were continuing to support those of you who were eligible by extending our furlough scheme through until 31st October 2020. We took an industry-leading stance then, and we continued that position by extending the scheme throughout November when other umbrella employers had long since ceased their support.
COVID-19 aside, December can be a financially difficult time for many of us, which the senior team here at Parasol are very mindful of. So, we will continue our furlough support throughout this month too and will not be ending our scheme until 31st December 2020. We will also be continuing to provide additional financial assistance by making payments for accrued holiday days. For those of you who are eligible, we hope this continuation of our furlough support goes some way to ensuring financial peace of mind at this time of year.
If you are a Parasol employee and have been paid by us prior to the 30th October 2020 but you have unfortunately had your assignment cut short due to the pandemic, you may be eligible for CJRS support. Our employee support team can help.
If you are a Parasol furloughed employee, there is nothing you need to do. You will continue to receive furlough payments as usual through to 31st December (or your assignment end date if this is before the end of the year) and you only need to let us know if you are returning to a contract.
As always, if you do have any questions, our employee support team are on hand to help.
