The work you do as a contractor or freelancer can be a challenge, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. And you should take the opportunity where you can to celebrate your own successes and those of your fellow self-employed workers where possible.
Each year, IPSE take the opportunity to celebrate the positive impact the self-employed have by holding National Freelancers Day.
What is National Freelancers Day?
National Freelancers Day is an annual event dedicated to showcasing the hard work and influence displayed by the self-employed workforce. The event consists of guest speakers who share their experience and expertise and an awards ceremony to acknowledge the hard work displayed over the year.
As the association for the self-employed, IPSE is dedicated to supporting those who work for themselves. They provide support and protection to the self-employed and help with the day-to-day management involved in working for yourself.
Celebrate freedom and flexibility
The event, which is due to take place on 28th June, will bring the UK’s self-employed workforce together to celebrate this year’s theme –freedom and flexibility. In keeping with this, if you can’t make it to the day, there are plenty of opportunities for you to organise your own fringe events.
Organising your own event is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who understand your unique way of working and make contacts for the future. You can also share advice and use the opportunity to learn new skills.
But this doesn’t mean you should wait until National Freelancers Day to celebrate your hard work and dedication. Whether it’s by taking charge of your own professional development and learning something new or working hours which suit you best, there are plenty of easy ways you can make the most of this freedom each day.
