I retired in 2010 as I wanted to spend more time with my family. However, I received numerous requests from former colleagues to assist in various projects, so rather than set up a new company, I contacted Parasol. Parasol has enabled me to have the best of both worlds. Much of my work I do from home, so I’m able to combine work and family successfully, with flexibility around working hours. Being able to log timesheets and expenses online makes administration work easy. When the odd problem does arise, Parasol are only an email or a phone call away and an acceptable solution has always been reached. For people like me who prefer to “wind down” on retirement rather than a sudden stop, I would certainly recommend using Parasol. It’s a great flexible way of minimising administration time and costs, so you can concentrate on the “core business” and family.
I have been with Parasol since 2005 and after speaking with Parasol’s friendly and knowledgeable team, I felt confident they would be the right choice. If I have any problems or queries, I know that a quick phone call is all I need to help solve any issue. When I hear “I’ll ring you back” it doesn’t fill me with dread! More recently, Parasol suggested moving my contracting activities to a limited company under their sister company, ClearSky Accounting. The moving process does require a few steps, but Clearsky made the transition as smooth as possible. The on-boarding team were really helpful and I was allocated a personal accountant who now looks after me. I’ve not been operating like this for long, but the early signs look good and I hope this relationship will be as long and successful as I had with Parasol.
I joined Parasol after finding a role as a service desk analyst and even though I didn’t seek them out myself, working with Parasol is one of the best decisions I’ve made. As a first time contractor, Parasol made the transition smooth and easy, and any fears I had about the amount of administration involved soon disappeared. Every time I’ve contacted Parasol they have listened and given me informative advice and managed to solve any queries I’ve had. If you want to be a contractor and are nervous, Parasol is a great support system.
