Summary of changes to rates, thresholds and allowances for tax year commencing 6th April 2025, including updates from the latest Spring Budget 2025. 

Income Tax rates for England, Northern Ireland & Wales

Personal Allowance £12,570 An employee can earn £12,570 per year before paying any tax at all if they are on the standard 1257L tax code for the next year, that's £242 per week or £1,048 per month
Basic rate (20%) £12,571 to £37,700  
Higher rate (40%) £37,701 to £125,140  
Additional rate Above £125,140 Any earnings over £125,140 are taxed at 45%
